Meet Priya Kainth, Therapist in Vernon

Priya Kainth

Registered Social Worker

Priya is a Registered Social Worker (RSW) in good standing with the British Columbia College of Social Workers (BCCSW). She offers in person counselling to clients in Vernon, and virtual counselling to clients across British Columbia.

Born and raised in Vernon, BC, and now residing in Kelowna, Priya has strong roots in the Okanagan. She completed her Master of Social Work at the University of British Columbia Okanagan, where she deepened her commitment to trauma-informed, relationally grounded practice.

Priya brings experience working with children, families, and adults in
community and clinical settings. She supports clients navigating anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, life transitions, relationship challenges, and the impact of trauma. Her background working with children and families has shaped her understanding of attachment, emotional development, and the lasting influence of early experiences on present day patterns.

Her therapeutic approach is trauma-informed, person-centered, and collaborative. Priya believes therapy should feel steady, grounded and be a space where clients can show up as they are without fear of judgment. She values thoughtful listening and emotional attunement, helping clients explore their internal experiences with curiosity and
compassion.

She integrates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), attachment-informed perspectives, strengths-based practice, mindfulness strategies, and solution-focused techniques. Priya works alongside clients to build practical coping tools while also fostering deeper insight, emotional regulation, and sustainable change.

Clients often describe Priya as calm, reflective, and genuinely engaged. She is particularly passionate about supporting individuals who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected by helping them move toward greater clarity, resilience, and alignment in their relationships and daily lives.
