Meet Janice Noseworthy, Therapist in Kelowna and Vernon

At Ember & Root Therapy, the heart of the work is helping people find resilience and growth in the aftermath of hardship. Janice believes that healing doesn’t erase the past — it grows from it.

Janice is a Registered Social Worker (RSW) in good standing with the British Columbia College of Social Workers (BCCSW) and the British Columbia Association of Social Workers (BCASW). She is also registered in Saskatchewan for telehealth, and offers online services to clients across the province. With a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of British Columbia and a diverse professional background, Janice brings both expertise and compassion to her practice.

Her career has spanned work with children, families, and adults in community and government settings, supporting clients facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, substance misuse, relationship struggles, and the lasting impact of trauma. She draws on evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches including attachment and family systems theory, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, solutions-focused strategies, and mindfulness practices.

What clients notice first about Janice is her warmth. She values creating a safe, non-judgmental space where people feel heard and understood. Her approach is collaborative: walking alongside her clients, helping them uncover strengths, and supporting them in building new patterns that foster connection, stability, and hope.

Outside of her clinical work, Janice is rooted in the Okanagan Valley where she enjoys life with her husband, children, and their cats and dog. She often finds renewal in nature, whether exploring the outdoors with her family or enjoying the beauty of the changing seasons.

At Ember & Root Therapy, Janice’s goal is to help individuals and families honour where they’ve come from, nurture healing in the present, and create strong, vibrant futures.
