Meet Lauren Lawrence, Pre-Licensed Therapist in Kelowna

Lauren is a pre-licensed counsellor working from a trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming lens, supporting individuals, teens (16+), and couples who are navigating emotional overwhelm, relational patterns, and identity-related concerns. Her work is grounded in a collaborative, relational approach that prioritizes safety, curiosity, and a pace that feels manageable for each person.

She draws from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
(ACT), and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and often integrates somatic perspectives
to support clients in understanding how emotions show up in the body. Her focus is on
helping people develop greater flexibility, self-awareness, and the capacity to respond to
life in ways that feel more intentional and aligned with their values.

Lauren has a particular interest in identity, sexuality, and the ways shame and social
narratives shape how people relate to themselves and others. Within this, she pays
attention to how stigma influences self-understanding and lived experience, particularly
in relation to sex-positive perspectives, gender expression, and the experiences of sex
work. This informs her nonjudgmental and affirming stance toward diverse identities and
relationship structures, and her interest in supporting clients in moving toward greater
authenticity and self-understanding.

Outside of her clinical work, she enjoys reading fiction, paddle boarding, hiking, and
board games, and shares her home with her partner and two dogs who keep life
grounded in play and presence.
